Four Years in the Making
January 28th will mark the 4 year anniversary. For many people who drive by and wonder how much longer is it going to take, we are getting close to the completion. The renovations/restorations have been on going despite numerous hurdles.
If you haven’t seen the inside, stop by and we will show it to you.
Work Progresses
The upper front portion is getting some much needed attention. Rotten wood and shingles have been removed, foil wrap and metal installed, copper accents and scallop siding is going on. In addition birch wood and a new exterior light has been installed by the front door.
Sew for a Cause
The first time I walked into St Bridget’s Church, I stood there trying to look beyond the disrepair and tried to imagine, “What can I do with this space?”. The first thought was ecumenical and inviting people to sew for a variety of charities.
On November 1st, we hosted our 1st sewing day. Sewers were working on pillowcases and pajama pants for Mid Maine Homeless Shelter, baby quilts for Newborns in Need, full size quilts for the veterans program Cabin in the Woods, others were cutting, ironing, and sorting donated fabric. At the end of the day, people took projects home to work on, find fabric to match pieces, etc.
There are so many good people in the world!
Pews have new home
The last of the pews are headed to Portland. The front upper siding has been ordered and will be installed later this fall.

Back door getting a facelift.
Years of paint being stripped off.
Tomorrow the door will get sanded and stained to match side door.
It has taken nearly a week to get to this point.
Original door hardware is back on the door. Need to get the door knob back on.
