Everyone has a story to tell…

We would like to create an album about St Bridget Church. The album will include the past and the present. If you know someone who has pictures or newspaper articles of the church or events held in the church that we could scan to include in the album, please have them contact us.

It is official

As of January 28, we are the owners of St Bridget’s Church and Rectory. First on the list is renovating the rectory so that we can move in. Under the stained carpeting is maple hardwood floors, walls need a fresh coat of paint, electrician will start rewiring on Monday, contractor will start the following week, and the plumber is soon to follow. The tree and shrub removal will have to wait for the snow to melt. Lots of activity plannedIMG_20141108_135209810_HDR

Is it old enough?

We have filled out the Historic Preservation application to find out if St Bridget’s will qualify to be on the Historic Registry. We could use their advice as we begin to restore the building. What normally would be unusual is becoming our normal… The documentation, maps, forms, etc that the application requires was emailed to us within the last couple days. So we will drop the packet off at their office today.

Count down

In a week we will be the owners of 860 & 864 Main St. Wow… are we up to the challenge?  Time will tell. For those of you wondering our last name means follower of St Bridget. I am wondering where she is taking us. What will be our purpose?

Getting ready

Inspector, electrician, plumber, roofer, and contractor have all been contacted and given us estimates. The work will be done in phases. Our focus for Feb will be the house so that we can move in.

We are investigating whether the church would qualify as a historic structure.  A new roof will be installed this spring.
